Smoke Persians - they've come a long way since 1938!

Here's a really neat media photo of three smoke Persian kittens from the 1930's. Shown is Emilie Romaine with Balbriggan, Brian and Mister. Kittens were entered in the San Francisco Cat Club's January 8-9, 1938 show.
If anyone can add further info about either Ms Romaine, her cattery name, or association affiliation, I'd appreciate an email for my records.

  1. Emilie Romaine was a circus aerialist, trapeze artist, and paired with her husband, Karl, as a vaudeville dancer. They later opened a photography studio in San Francisco. In the late 30's she was the only woman in California to hold the title 'Master of Photography.' I don't know if she bred cats. There is a photo of her holding another cat, White King, on the internet. Hope this helps. Kelly
